David J Williams David was born May 7, 1941 in Grants, N.M. to Ralph T. Williams & Ruth (Neely) Williams completing Ralph's next headline in the Grants newspaper "Editor draws a Full House - 3 Queens & 2 Kings" joining siblings James Burrell, Twyla Jo, Ruthanne & Loretta Lee. David passed away after a sudden illness on March 17, 2015 in Montrose, Colo. Funeral services are planned for Wednesday, March 25 in Cortez, Colo. with David's nephew Leslie Williams officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Cahone Cemetery in Cahone, Colo. Soon after, the family moved to Cortez, Colo. where David attended school until the age of 10. A few years after the death of his father in 1947, the family moved to Radville, Saskatchewan, Canada. David's mother became the Dean of Girls at the Radville Christian College. Later, the school was moved to Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Canada where it became Western Christian College where he graduated in 1959. Shortly after, David married Faye Mooney to where four children were born: David Scott (Sioux City, S.D.), Jeffrey Dean (Kennewick, Wash.), Gregory Wade (Kalispell, Mont.), and Patricia Faye (Woodinville, Wash.) They then settled in Glasgow, Montana. Thru David's employment he was transferred to Casper, Wyo. to become manager for the Singer Sewing Store. They were later divorced. He then married Marge J. David which produced two children: Cody Marie and Emil Vaughn (Casper, Wyo). They were later divorced. During his time in Casper he worked for Petrotomics, WOTCO, and later returning to Petrotomics in Shirley Basin where he met the love of his life of 34 years, Patricia Niezwaag Stagner. They settled in Medicine Bow until 1986 when the Petrotomics/Getty Oil Operation was closed down. This created a move back to the area where David considered home, Southwest Colorado. They owned the Norwood Market in Norwood, Colo. from 1986 to 1996 where they officially retired. During the next 19 years David and Patricia were able to enjoy their retirement traveling, visiting with family and playing with grandchildren. During their time traveling, they were able to visit many interesting places such as: Switzerland, England, the Caribbean, Hawaii and of course Disney World. Also many trips were made to visit family across the United States and up thru Canada. The summer of 2013 was spent traveling over a month with grandchildren thru the Yukon in Alaska to see family and sightsee. David was widely known for his many interests and hobbies he developed over the years. From arrowhead hunting, painting, sculpting, collecting and of course, creating his many "Critters"; David had the amazing ability to see treasures out of most people's junk. David is survived by his wife, Patty Williams of Norwood, Colo.; sister, Twyla (Leland) Keller of Billings, Mont.; sister-in-law, Alice Williams of Regina, Sask., Canada; brother-in-law, Lloyd (Elaine) Jacobs of Weyburn, Sask, Canada; brothers-in-law, David (Sherryl) Niezwaag of Kingman, Ariz. and Robert (Linda) Niezwaag of Riverton, Wyo.; six children; stepdaughters, Bonnie Stagner and Lorrie George of Casper, Wyo.; plus many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Preceding David in death are his parents; brother, Jim Williams; sister, Ruthanne Jacobs; and sister and brother-in-law, Loretta and JL Chastain; stepson, William (Billy) Stagner. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Caring Friends Fund c/o San Juan Healthcare Foundation, 800 S. Third Street, Montrose, Colorado 81401.
