DAVID FERRELL KYZER Funeral services for David Ferrell Kyzer, 59 of Cortez will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 8 at the Lifeway Baptist Church. A potluck will follow for family and friends in the fellowship hall of the church and everyone is asked to bring their favorite dish. Dave was born March 16, 1949 in Crosbyton, Tex. the son of James Ferrell and Daisy (Wells) Kyzer. He passed away at his Cortez home on August 3, 2008. On June 21, 1970 Dave married Joy (Donathan) Kyzer in Albuquerque, N.M. Dave and Joy were residents of the Durango area before moving to Cortez six years ago. A Master Electrician by trade, Dave enjoyed in his free time fishing, horses, and playing billiards. Surviving Dave are his wife of 38 years, Joy Kyzer of Cortez; his mother, Daisy Austin of Albuquerque, N.M.; his children, Shane Kyzer and his fianc, Lori Winters of Tucson, Ariz. and Kyla Murphy and her fianc, Steve Roybal of Rio Rancho, N.M.; and his granddaughter, Sara Denogean of Rio Rancho, N.M. Also surviving Dave are four brothers, Rick and wife, Connie of Texas, John and wife, Debbie of Las Cruses, N.M., Tracy and Kerry both of Albuquerque, N.M.; by his dear friends, Joe and May Cornish of Albuquerque, N.M.; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Dave was preceded in death by his father; and by his son, Darren Murphy. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Dave to the Dave Kyzer Memorial Fund, First National Bank, 140 W. Main St., Cortez.
