David Charles Yelinek, Sr.

DAVID CHARLES YELINEK, SR. Private memorial services for longtime Cortez resident, David Charles Yelinek, Sr. will be held. David was born on September 16, 1928 in Phoenix, Ariz. the son of Charles Frank and Chloe (Choate) Yelinek. He passed away on Monday, December 29, 2014 at the Valley Inn. David was 86 years old. David was a United States Air Force veteran, who served his country during the Korean Conflict. He later went on to work as a Jailer for the Sheriff's Department. There were 31 wonderful years spent with his beloved wife, Helen I. (Crawley) Yelinek. There were many things David enjoyed during his lifetime; some of these things were: planting flowers, caring for his garden and rock work. Surviving David are his wife, Helen I. Yelinek of Cortez; his children, Vivian Winters and husband, Hal, David Charles Yelinek, Jr. all of Reserve, N.M., Michael Yelinek of Cortez and Daniel Yelinek of Mesa, Ariz.; as well as numerous step-children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents, Charles and Chloe Yelinek; his son, Troy Crawley; his granddaughter, Joy Frazier; as well as three sisters, and one brother.
