DAVID ALVIN “AL” DECKER Graveside services for lifelong Mancos resident, David Alvin “Al” Decker will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 30 at the Webber Cemetery approximately six miles south of Mancos on Highway 41. The son of William and Sarah (Halls) Decker, Al was born September 17, 1917 in Mancos. He passed away at his home in Mancos on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at the age of 89. During World War II, Al served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked for a number of years as Stabilization Superintendent for the National Park Service. Surviving Al are his adopted daughter, Sydney Fletcher of Strattford, Mo.; his adopted grandsons, George Stroutheide of Strattford, Mo., David Stroutheide of Germany, and Bill Stroutheide of Sulpher Springs, Tex.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Al was preceded in death by his parents; and his beloved wife, Sybil (Douglas) Decker in February 2006.
