Danny Eugene Muzzy

February 6, 1955 — January 26, 2007

DANNY EUGENE MUZZY Memorial services for longtime Cortez resident Danny Eugene Muzzy will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 3 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Danny was born on February 6, 1955 in Montrose, Colo., the son of Oraly “Bud” and Ethel (Smith) Muzzy. He passed away on Friday, January 26, 2007 at Swedish Medical Center in Denver, Colo., at the age of 51 due to complications of cancer. Danny graduated from MCHS in 1972. He served on the Cortez Volunteer Fire Department. Danny was happiest in the mountains and loved elk hunting with his bow. His passion was fishing and was made more enjoyable with the companionship of his sons. His job as a logger provided him with the surroundings he felt the most at home in. The lights of his life were his sons, Austin and Dylan. Danny’s laughter, laid-back personality and his unconditional acceptance of others will be greatly missed. His role of son, father, brother, uncle and friend will leave an emptiness in all those who love him. Surviving Danny are his father, Bud Muzzy of Cortez; his sons, Austin Muzzy and wife, Rachel, and Dylan Muzzy, all of Cortez; his new grandson, Dalton Lane; his brothers, Wesley Muzzy of Heber, Ariz., and Craig Muzzy and wife, Laura of Cortez; his sisters, Janet Glenn and husband, Dan, Susan Sanders and husband, Jon, and Brandee Muzzy, all of Cortez; his companion, Donna Noyes of Cortez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
