Dalton Robert Janz of Mancos, Colorado, passed away unexpectedly on November 24, 2022 at his home at the age of 22. Dalton was loved by everyone he came in contact with. His goofy, sweet demeanor could make anyone smile. Dalton was born in Durango, Colorado on December 17, 1999.
If you knew Dalton you knew he loved his dog, his Ford, dirt bikes, working on the ranch, hunting, serving his community and most importantly, his family. Time spent with his friends and family consisted of a lot of dancing, singing and laughs. Some of his greatest joys were being a member of the Dolores Volunteer Fire Department and the Montezuma County Sheriff's Office.
He is survived by his parents Melissa Janz of Cortez, Colorado and Don (Lorie Jean) Janz of Mancos, Colorado; sisters Courtney Janz and her daughter Raegan of Mancos, Colorado and Shelby (Brian) Scott of Lake Village, Arkansas; brothers Cade Mitchell and Branson Mitchell; grandparents Pat Janz of Mancos, Colorado; Nick (Denice) Wilson of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two aunts Tracie(Milt) Bramble of Rock Port, Missouri; Katy (Eric) Siebert of Fayetteville, Arkansas; uncle Zack Wilson of Fayetteville, Arkansas; his second dad and mom, Blake (Melodie) Mitchell of Mancos, Colorado; and fiancée Breann Brunson of Mancos, Colorado. In addition, Dalton is survived by many other cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends who he loved dearly. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Bob Janz.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Dalton Janz Memorial fund at any Dolores State bank and proceeds will be given to support local volunteer fire districts.
