DALE LANSING BLACK Funeral services for lifelong Cortez resident Dale Lansing Black will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 7 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Goodman Point Cemetery. Mr. Rob Hall will officiate. Military honors will be provided by Ute Mountain American Legion Post #75. Visitation has been scheduled for Sunday afternoon from 1 to 2 p.m. at Ertel Chapel. Dale was born on February 4, 1930 in Rena Raye, Colo. the son of Marshal J. and Leslie Mozelle (Stanley) Black. He passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at his residence at the age of 79. Dale served his country in the United States Army between 1951 and 1954. He devoted 34 years to the Montezuma County Road Department. In his free time, Dale enjoyed rock hounding, studying and collecting Indian artifacts, jewelry making, and flint napping. Surviving Dale are his children, Luzette Hansen of Cheyenne, Wyo., Dorinda Black of Cortez, and Greg Black and wife, Ellen of Cortez; and his ex-wife and mother of his children, Ingrid (Percell) Black. Dale also leaves behind his grandchildren, Brandy Holzer and husband, Tyler of Mobridge, S.D., Kacee Hansen and Tory Hansen of Cheyenne, Wyo., Megan Drexler of Lubbock, Tex., Aspen Paradis of Cortez, Courtney and Dayne Black of Cortez; his great-grandchild, Cale Drexler; and his siblings, Wanda Black of Cortez, and David Black of Farmington, N.M. Dale was preceded in death by his parents; and by his brothers, Allan Black and Stanley Black. Memorial contributions may be made in Dale's name to Hospice of Montezuma, P.O.
