Dale Benjamin AmericanHorse was born June 29, 1964 in Pine Ridge South Dakota to Albert and Mary (Ribsmen) AmericanHorse. He passed away on December 27, 2024 at Intermountain Health Utah Valley Hospital, in Provo, Utah at the age of 60.

A visitation will be held at Ertel Memorial Chapel on Monday January 6, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ute Mountain Ute Recreation Center in Towaoc, Colorado. Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery with the Veterans of Foreign Wars providing Military Honors.

He was survived by his wife of 18 years Elena, his three sons Dale "Happi" Jr and Elias AmericanHorse both of Rapid City, SD, Elijah Joey AmericanHorse, Towaoc, Colorado; Step-daughter Samantha Morris Towaoc Colorado, and adopted granddaughter Presley Rae Gates Towaoc, Colorado. Siblings, Albert AmericanHorse of Oklahoma City, OK; Gerald "Chubb" AmericanHorse Porcupine SD. Niece Velvedene " Wil-Ejo" (Rowayne). Wounded Horse Family, Germaine Tobacco Family, Romaine Tobacco (John) Family, Frenchee (Casey) Romero Family, Elizabeth AmericanHorse Family, Loreno AmericanHorse: Nephew Calvert "CL" Tobacco (Missy) Family, Vincent Tobacco III Family, Monte Goings Family, Sage AmericanHorse, Dusty AmericanHorse all of South Dakota.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents Albert, and Mary AmericanHorse; sisters Velevdene Linda AmericanHorse-Tobacco, Susan AmericanHorse, and Jeanette AmericanHorse. Brother Denver AmericanHorse; Step-Daughter Precious Angel. Nieces Janelle Tobacco, Michelle Tobacco, Marybeth AmericanHorse and a Nephew Manuel AmericanHorse. Grandchildren Samantha Tobacco, Dennis Tobacco, and Nathaniel Ten Fingers-Tobacco.
