A visitation for Cortez resident Cortland Gregory ‘Greg’ Price will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. Friday, December 17, 2021 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Greg was born August 4, 1944 in Denver, CO to Cortlan Schley Price and Reta Jay Swofford Price. He grew up in Lakewood, CO and graduated from Lakewood High School in 1962. He earned an associate’s degree in electronics from Weltec College in Salt Lake City, UT in 1964, and worked for Ampex Corp. in Colorado Springs, CO. On April 16, 1965 he married Jean Lucille Aldrich in Salt Lake City. Greg served in the United Stated Air Force from 1966 to 1969 and was deployed to Thailand during the year 1968. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
In 1970 Greg was employed by Xerox Corp. as a technical representative, a position he held for 31 years before he retired. In 1971 Greg and Jean welcomed a baby daughter, Jennifer Jay, who was her father’s delight. Greg was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. He loved the Colorado mountain country. He loved camping, and he loved to hunt in the fall. He also loved to go flying in his ultralight aircraft and traveled around the country to go flying with his friends.
Surviving Greg are his daughter, Jennifer Nesmith-Archuleta; his son-in-law, Roger Dean Archuleta Jr; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and his former wife and friend, Jean Price. Greg was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Inez Neuman; and his son-in-law, Staff Sergeant Roderick D. Nesmith, USMC.
Greg will be greatly missed by his family and the many friends he made over the years.
