OTTO "CORKY" McCLAIN Funeral services for Otto "Corky" McClain, a longtime area resident, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 12 at the Dolores Community Center. Interment will follow at Summit Ridge Cemetery. Pastor Rob Bruendl will officiate the services. Visitation has been set for Sunday afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Corky was born July 11, 1937 in McCaney, Tex. the son of Aron and Averill McClain. He passed away at his Cortez home on Friday, April 9, 2010 at the age of 72. Corky proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He owned and operated Corky's Plumbing. Corky was a member of the Masons, Shriners, Cortez Elks Lodge, and National Rifle Association. In his free time, Corky enjoyed playing guitar at The Appleshed and was an active member of Over the Hill Gang car club. Surviving Corky are his wife, Pat; children, Rory, Corey, Kim, Brent, Jonnie Sue, Laurie, and Shawna; seven stepchildren; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and by his brother, Terry McClain. Corky was preceded in death by three siblings, Marvin, Clinton and Billie Jean. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Corky McClain with Hospice of Montezuma, PO Box 740, Cortez.
