CORA IMO CRAIN Funeral services for lifelong Dove Creek resident, Cora Imo Crain will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 20 at the Dove Creek First Baptist Church. Interment will be held at Dove Creek Cemetery. Imo was born on May 14, 1932 in Rural San Miguel County, Colorado the daughter of Willard and Maude (Knuckles) Sutherland. She passed away on Monday, March 16, 2015 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango at the age of 82. Imo married Sam Eugene Crain on December 23, 1950 in Aztec, N.M. With this union two children were born, Peggy and Imogene. Imo was a hard working woman who worked for Midland Bean Company and then at the Blue Mountain Cafe for many years. She belonged to the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed gardening, corcheting and cooking. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Surviving Imo are her husband, Sam Crain of Dove Creek; her daughters, Peggy Daves and husband, Eddie of Cortez, Imogene Hampton and husband, Bill of Grand Junction, Colo.; her grandsons, Dakota Cressler and wife, Lindsay of Dove Creek and Trinity Cressler and wife, Britney of Cortez; great grandchildren, Walker Cressler, Chorbin Cressler and Gaige Cressler; and her three sisters, Betty Dievert and husband, David of Tucson, Ariz., Joan Thompson and husband, Charles of Dove Creek and Frankie Logan and husband, Andy of Cortez. Preceding her in death are her parents, Willard and Maude Sutherland; her grandchild, Toney Cressler; and her brother and two sisters, John Sutherland, Eulah McComb, and Beulah Sutherland. Memorial contributions can be made in Imo Crain's memory to the Troy Young V.F.W. Post #5181 Ladies Auxiliary.
