Constance C. Montgomery

CONSTANCE C. MONTGOMERY Constance C. Montgomery was born on August 4, 1921 in Caldwell, N.J., the daughter of Earl Eugene and Inglis (Johnson) Carré. She passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at the Valley Inn Nursing Home at the age of 85. Constance grew up in the Malibu beach area. She was among the few women to join the Navy during WWII. She was a dedicated volunteer for Hospice of Montezuma. Constance taught many people how to line dance, she enjoyed time spent dancing. Constance loved to garden and grow delicious vegetables. She had the special ability to carve slate. Some of her beautiful pieces won awards and recognition. Surviving Constance are her son, Thomas Ewing Montgomery and wife, Carol of Dolores; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Thomas Montgomery, Sarah and Amanda Montgomery; and her brother John Carré. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, William Melvin Montgomery and Derald N. Hawkes; her son, Robert Earl Montgomery; and her siblings, David James Carré and Patsy Carré. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
