Connie Lee Walter

  Connie Lee Walter was born January 23, 1948, in McCook, Nebraska to Doran and Delphine Remington. She passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Centura Mercy Hospital in Durango, CO, at the age of 74.

  Connie graduated from McCook High School in 1966. She went on to study Medical Technology at McCook Junior College.   Connie married Gary Tobiasson in 1968 and they had two children, Chad and Amy.

  Connie moved to Dolores in 1982. She started working in the Dolores School District as a parent volunteer, became a substitute teacher, and eventually a kindergarten aide. Connie earned her teaching certificate from Fort Lewis College in 1991 and taught 2nd grade until she retired.

 Connie married Roland Walter in 1996 and together they enjoyed 26 years traveling and spending time with their families.   Connie loved her family, quilting, canning, gardening, and her faith.

  Surviving Connie are her husband Roland of Dolores; children, Chad Tobiasson of Grand Junction and Amy (John) Picray of Monticello, IA; step-children, Cindy (Stacy) Koenig of Westminster, CO, Steve Walter of Green Valley Lake, California, and Charlie (Cathy) Walter of Milwaukee, WI; sister Diane (Murray) Dugger of Aurora, CO; thirteen grandchildren, Hunter Tobiasson, Jens Tobiasson, True Tobiasson, Brooke Picray, Wade Picray, Jess Koenig, Jae Klingensmith, Stephanie Miller, Lindsey Walter, Dylan Walter, Lauren Hallum, Jake Walter, and Maggie Mettelman; five great grandchildren, Samantha Koenig, Melody Koenig, Cole Hallum, Troy Hallum, and Mitch Hallum. She was preceded in death by her parents.

  Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Please join the family for a luncheon at the church following the memorial service. Memorial contributions may be made in Connie Walter's name to Trinity Lutheran Church.
