COLLEEN ANN PACHECO Funeral services for Colleen Ann Pacheco will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 23 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Empire Street. Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery. Colleen was born on November 8, 1951 in Ignacio, Colo. the daughter of Frank and Ruth George (Beyale) Yazzie. She passed away on Monday, September 20, 2004 in Santo Domingo, New Mexico at the age of 52. On May 3, 1975 at the Santo Domingo Catholic Church in Santo Domingo, New Mexico, Colleen married Larry Pacheco. With this union a son and daughter were born. Colleen worked hard as a Pharmacy Technician for St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe, N.M. Her nick name was “Korn” and her favorite color was purple. Colleen really loved the simplicity of life. Surviving Colleen are her husband, Larry Pacheco; her children, LaCher Pacheco and husband, Bobbie, and Amidooli Pacheco; she leaves her grandson, Heyashrum Pacheco; her grandmother, Crescincia; and her siblings, Esther Yazzie of Cortez, Susie Muller and husband, Sid of Belen, N.M., Martin Yazzie of Cortez, Mary Ann Yazzie of Globe, Ariz., Charlotte Corrales and husband, Joseph of Farmington, N.M.; and adopted sister, Janet Baird and husband, Tom of Baltimore, Md.; as well as several aunts and uncles. Preceding her in death was her mother, Ruth Yazzie; and her daughter, Trudy Lynn Pacheco. Memorial contributions can be made in Colleen’s name at either Vectra Bank or Citizens State Bank of Cortez.
