CLYDE DWIGHT HOLDER Graveside services for lifelong Mancos resident Clyde Dwight Holder will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 21 at Webber Cemetery. A visitation has been scheduled for Thursday morning from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Clyde was born on May 11, 1934 in Montrose, Colo. the son of Worth Lloyd and Lenore Elizabeth (Isaacs) Holder. He passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2008 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 73. Clyde was always active having been a Boy Scout Leader and Volunteer Fire Fighter in Mancos. He loved hunting and fishing in his earlier years and he also loved "the cowboy ways"; branding cows, breaking horses and camping. In his later years as cancer took its toll on Clyde, he enjoyed going for rides in his car and talking to friends at Hamburger Haven. Clyde succumbed to cancer after a four year battle but he never gave up. He was tough until the end but never complained. Clyde was preceded in death by a number of loved ones, his parents; his wife, Josephine Holder; his daughter, Tracy Bailey; and two brothers. "Clyde is gone but not forgotten. To all of those who watched over him and made his life joyful when his family couldn't be there, we thank you and may God bless each one of you." ~ Gene Holder, Clyde's son.
