CLYDE B. LARSEN Graveside services for longtime Cortez resident Clyde B. Larsen will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 8 at Cortez Cemetery. Clyde was born April 6, 1928 in Bicknell, Utah. He passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at the age of 82. On November 24, 1964 Clyde married Frances Irene Stoddard in Cortez. They shared 42 years of marriage before Frances’ death in 2007. Clyde proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Following his honorable discharge from the Army Clyde became a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He took pride in the tomatoes that he grew and carefully attended. He also enjoyed fishing. Clyde loved his grandchildren and time spent with them and was known to be helpful to anyone in need. Surviving Clyde are his children, Steve Larsen of Price, Utah, David Larsen of Las Vegas, Nev., Richard Larsen of Colorado Springs, Colo., Linda of Schenectady, N.Y., Shirley of Maryland, Ruth Larsen of Price, Utah, Louise Maxwell of Glendale, Ariz., Lavena Snyder of Cortez; Charlotte Jones of Cortez, Robert Hager of Carnation, Wash., and Otis Hager of Blanca, Colo.; by his sister, Oleta Lambert of Park City, Utah; and by many, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and extended family.
