CLIFFORD REED HALLS Graveside services for Clifford Reed Halls a lifelong resident of this area will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 31 at the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Military graveside services will be conducted at the gravesite. A visitation will be held Monday afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Cliff was born March 8, 1924 to David and Lillian Emma (Dean) Halls in Mancos, Colo. He died Friday, Aug. 27, 2004 at Southwest Memorial Hospital. He was 80 years old. On July 6, 1946, Cliff married Kitty Marie Foster in Farmington, N.M. Together they shared 58 years of marriage. Cliff was an avid reader and loved trivia and crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed time spent gardening and watching sports on television. During World War II Cliff served his country in the Navy. After his discharge he became a member of the American Legion in Moab, Utah. He also held membership in the Eagles and the Moose in Moab, and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Surviving Cliff are his wife, Kitty Halls of Cortez; children, Vicki Martin of Ft. Scott, Kans., Anthony Halls of Cortez, Alex Halls of Cortez, Tracy Bullock and husband, Brent of Moab, Utah, Kelly Halls and wife, Severine of Austin, Texas, Cindy Halls of Florence, Ariz., and Shawna Halls of Austin, Texas; and ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Two brothers, Harry Halls of Mancos and Gene Conrad Halls of Durango also survive Cliff. A son, Curtis Halls; four brothers and three sisters; and one grandson preceded Cliff in death.
