Clifford Harrison Neely

Clifford H. Neely Jr (Billy) was born to Clifford Harrison Neely and Edith (Chenowith) Neely on January 30th, 1928 in Cortez Colorado.   He passed away on January 26th, 2024 at Madison House in Cortez Colorado at the age of 95.

 He was a lifelong resident of Cahone, Colorado where he farmed the land and helped his parents homestead in the early 1920s.  In addition to farming, Billy spent 24 years working for the Delores County Department of Transportation.

 At the age of 40, he met and fell in love with Alberta (Newby) Thompson.   He became the loving father to 4 children,  Debra McRae, James Gale Thompson, Delila Serra, and Kevin Thompson.

 Billy enjoyed spending time with relatives, of which there were many, and friends.  He also enjoyed remembering and talking about all of the Neely family joys and hardships as they all strove to make the area their home. He was always a generous hearted individual and did not hesitate to lend a helping hand if needed.   If he counted you as a friend you were in for life. He will be greatly missed.

 Billy is proceeded in death by his parents; wife, Alberta Neely, and son, James Gale Thompson.
