CLIFFORD LEE TAYLOR SR. Funeral services for lifelong Towaoc resident Clifford Lee Taylor Sr. will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 8 at the Towaoc Recreation Center. Interment will follow at Towaoc Cemetery. Visitation has been scheduled for Monday afternoon from 3 to 6 p.m. at Four Corners Funeral Chapel. Clifford was born on June 24, 1938 in Towaoc the son of George and Nana Taylor. He passed away on Friday, September 4, 2009 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 71. Clifford retired from the resource department where he had spent many years as a heavy equipment operator. An active man in his community, Clifford was a past chairman of 4-H and he had also been the grand marshal for the Ute Mountain Roundup parade. Clifford loved the outdoors. He especially enjoyed time spent hunting, horseback riding, western dancing, playing softball and basketball, and he loved horses and dogs. Surviving Clifford are his daughter, Diana Taylor of Towaoc; his grandchildren, Freana Bancroft of Towaoc, Lawanda Wing and Devon Whiskers of Durango, Toby Cuthair of Towaoc, Valentina Wing and Jake Dale of Cortez, Nathaniel Taylor of Towaoc, and Nicole Taylor of Towaoc; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; his companion, Andrea Silas of Towaoc; his adopted son, Pelon Silas; and by numerous friends and extended family members. Clifford was preceded in death by his parents; and by his children, Clifford Taylor Jr., Noel Taylor, and Edna Taylor.
