Clara Emogene Carter

CLARA EMOGENE CARTER Private family graveside services will be held for Cortez resident Clara Emogene Carter. Emogene was born on July 14, 1922 in Mt. Carmel, Ill., the daughter of Albert and Lenora (Tollison) Glazier. She passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2007 at her residence at the age of 84. On November 2, 1942, Emogene married Jessie N. Carter in Fairfield, Ill. She was a talented oil painter who also like to spend time doing needlework. Surviving Emogene are her husband of 64 years, Jessie N. Carter of Cortez; her son Jim Carter of Lakewood, Colo.; her grandson, Bobby Carter and wife, Keri of Arvada, Colo.; and her sisters, Gracie Saltsgaver of Dolores, Mary Stalhut and Norma Bohnert, both of Indianapolis, Ind. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Pauline, Paul, Tollie, and Joe Glazier.
