Chub Speer

WILFORD ELROY “CHUB” SPEER A gathering of friends and family will be held for longtime Dolores resident Wilford Elroy “Chub” Speer at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 7 at the Dolores Fire Station. Chub was born on November 22, 1917 in Camp Verde, Ariz. the son of John S. and Velma (Cluff) Speer. He passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at his home at the age of 91. Chub always felt he was a rich man because of his many friends. They were always there for him. Chub would want everyone to live and do something they enjoy every day. Surviving Chub are his daughter, Sheryl Speer and Lloyd Johnson of Dolores; his granddaughter, Lynne Hill-Clark and husband, Tony of Lakeview; his great-grandchildren, Kalin, Kyle, Kody, and Kendall Clark; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Chub was preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Chub’s memory to the Dolores Fire Department and E.M.T.’s.
