CHARLOTTE LORETTA WILLBURN Funeral services for longtime Mancos resident, Charlotte Loretta Willburn will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 25 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Reverend Bud Rousset will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery. A visitation has been scheduled for Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Ertel Chapel. Charlotte was born January 13, 1935, in Tacoma, Wash. to William and Carrie Louella (Sundeen) Arter. She passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015 at the Valley Inn Nursing Home in Mancos. Following the passing of her mother, at the age of two Charlotte went to live with her Aunt Lillian and Uncle Robert in Victoria, B.C. for 12 years. At the age of 14, she returned to Tacoma. She graduated from Stadium High School in 1953. In January of 1955 she met Frank, and they were married on December 3, 1955 in Tacoma, Wash. At that time they moved back to the Willburn Ranch in Mancos where they have made their home ever since. Charlotte made it her life's work to raise five children, enjoy her grandchildren, tend her pets, yard, and flowers all of which she dearly loved. Surviving Charlotte are her husband, Frank; and children, Bob and wife, Sheri of Mancos, John and wife, Karon of Salem, Ore., Scott and wife, Theresa of Dolores, Joe and wife, Tara of Mancos, and Janet Schebesta and husband, Roland of Page, Ariz; as well as nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Carrie; brothers, Bob, Bill, Elmer, Charles (Duke)and Thomas; and sisters, Lovella Thompson and Janet Zoller. Memorial contributions can be made in Charlotte's memory to the Salvation Army.
