CHARLES L. RHODES
Charles Lenard Rhodes was born December 28,1939, in Hooper, Colorado, the son of Waldon "Don" and Atha (Davis) Rhodes. Charles lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday, March 5,202, at his residence in Dolores, Colorado at the age of 84.
Charles was an avid hunter, outdoorsman, and rancher. Charles met the love of his life, Alta Drinnen in Montrose Colorado. They were married on September 27, 1957, in Montrose. Charles served his country in the US Navy, after being honorably discharged he worked for NCR (National Cash Register Company until he retired to run his own bank machine repair company. After selling his company Charles and Alta bought the Cross Canyon Ranch in Dove Creek, Colorado. They ranched from 1997 until 2007 when they retired once more and moved to Dolores, Colorado.
Surviving Charles are his daughter, Tamara "Tammy" (Michael) Johnson of Moab, Utah; his grandchildren, Nicole "Nikki" Arnold of Cortez, Joseph (Jennifer) Getz of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sara (Dan) Stack, Texas, Laura (Jared) Black, Arizona; great grandchildren, Sydney Getz of Cortez, Preston Getz of Oklahoma, Jack Getz of Oklahoma, Allison Getz of Oklahoma, Stormy Beanland of Dove Creek, Colorado, Carson Stack of Texas, Declan Stack of Texas, Magdalin Black of Arizona, and Koren Getz of Oklahoma.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Alta; his parents; his sister Thelma Rhodes; brother, Donald Wayne Rhodes; and his son, Donald "Don" Rhodes.
A small family service is planned.
