Charles M. Malcolm

CHARLES M. MALCOLM Graveside memorial services for Charles M. Malcolm will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 8 at the Summit Ridge Cemetery. Charles was born the son of Ollie and Thelma (Sherman) Malcolm on Dec. 19, 1920 at Ponca City, Okla. He passed away at his home on Summit Ridge on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004. Charles was 83 years old. On Sept. 5, 1939, Charles married Vivian Estelle Anders. Together Charles and Vivian shared 64 years of marriage. During that time, Charles served his country in the Navy during World War II. He spent his career working as a yard foreman for the railroads. In 1980 Charles and Vivian moved to the Summit Ridge area. Charles was a life member of the American Legion and also held membership with the VFW. This coming December, Charles would have been a member of the Masons for 50 years. In his free time, Charles enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading and most especially, telling stories of days gone by. Surviving Charles are his beloved wife, Vivian Malcolm of Summit Ridge; his children, Barbara Sue McAllister of Mancos, Vivian Patricia O’Neill of Kauai, Hawaii, and Charles Scott Malcolm and wife, Ann of Olathe, Kans.; and 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, with another great grandchild expected. A sister, Opal Risley and husband, Hugh of Oklahoma City, Okla. also survives Charles. One sister and his parents precede Charles in death.
