Charles Lee (Chuck) Thompson was born September 8, 1935 to Forrest (Frosty) and Myra Conn Thompson in Cortez, Colorado. He passed from this life on March 11, 2019 to be with his Lord & Savior.
Chuck attended school in Dove Creek, Colorado graduating from high school with the class of 1953. During his high school years he was active in the DCHS band and football programs. Chuck received his letter in football.
On May 22, 1953 (one day before his high school graduation) he married Joan Evans. In 1954 they welcomed their first born son, Eugene. Five years later they welcomed Leroy, and in 1962 they welcomed Timothy.
Chuck was active in the community serving on the Dove Creek Town Board, Dove Creek Fire Department and the Cemetery District.
Chuck worked for a number of years for his dad and mom at Frosty’s Grocery store. From there he started working in the uranium mines, beginning with P. L. Nixon. He later worked for Union Carbide at the Dermo-Snyder and Sunday mines. Chuck worked for Union Carbide for 25 years before retiring in 1991. He then worked for Dolores County Road and Bridge for a few years. Chuck also drove a truck for Rod Thompson part time.

Even though Chuck suffered ill health during the last several years he never complained; and when asked how he was doing his answer was always “FINE.” He asked one thing of Dr. Demby – that she would live long enough to take care of him, and near the end he reminded her of that promise.
