Charleen Fay Randolph (73) of Cortez, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2023 in Cortez, Colorado. She was born September 23, 1949 in Cortez, Colorado, the daughter of Emery Dwain Randolph Jr. and Nettie Fay Randolph Huskey.
Surviving Char are her siblings; Linda Billingsley (John) of Buhl, ID, HD “Tuffy” Randolph (Linda) of Cortez, Erline Wright of Mancos, Rick Randolph of Dolores, and Allan Randolph (Cara) of Cortez, children; Jody Randolph (Donny) of Cortez and Kierra Fury (Danny) of Mancos, grandchildren; Billy Hicks (Joshalyn) of Mancos, Jerry Kramer (Melody) of Mancos, Colt Fury (Olivia) of Fort Drum, New York, Cameron Fury of Mancos, Hannah Mathews of Cortez, and Cutter Mathews of Tucson, Az. great grandchildren; Danna, Darren, and Adam Hicks and Destiny, Chelsey, and Randy Kramer as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, brother Ronnie Pribble, sons Randy Mathews and Darren Kramer, grandson Colby Kramer, and brother-in-law Leonard Wright.
Char was raised in Lewis and Mancos, Colorado. From an early age, Char had a love for horses and was an excellent rider. Throughout the years she competed in many relay races, gymkhana events and horse races. She also loved to dance and had a passion for music. In fact, she learned how to play the piano over the last few years. Char worked with her mother at the family liquor store, Blue Gap Trading Post, and later at City Market and Safeway. Her customers would often go to her line just to see her. She built some very special friendships, and all loved her so much. However, her most important job was raising her four amazing children, who were her pride and joy.
Her favorite times and memories were spent racing horses, traveling the racetrack circuit, riding horses, and planting flowers as well as collecting roosters. She treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, and family.
Memorial Services will be held August 12, 2023 at 11:00 am, Rock Springs Church Cortez, Colorado. Reception to follow
