Catherine Loraine "Cathy" Neely

CATHERINE LORAINE "CATHY" NEELY Memorial services for longtime Cahone resident Catherine Loraine "Cathy" Neely will be held on Friday, May 8 at Dove Creek First Baptist Church. Pastor Mike Neely will officiate. Cathy was born on April 29, 1929 in Burlington, N.C. the daughter of James and Nannie Lou (Hodges) Owen. She passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango at the age of 80. On April 18, 1953, Cathy married Ralph Ray Neely in Danville, Va. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and Cathy loved to work with and volunteer for church youth groups. In her free time, Cathy enjoyed reading, gardening, spending time outdoors and in her later years, fishing. Cathy's family and grandchildren brought her life much joy. Surviving Cathy are her husband of 56 years, Ralph Neely of Cahone; her children, Deborah Dee Nash and husband, Glenn of Cahone, Michael Ralph Neely and wife, Mickee of Grand Island, Neb., and Pamela C. Lee and husband, Eric of Chicago, Ill.; her brother, Carl Owen and wife, Susan of South Carolina; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and one on the way. Cathy was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial contributions may be made in Cathy's name to San Juan Bible Camp.
