CAROLYN ANNE (KETCHEM) TANNER Carolyn Anne Tanner age 71, passed away on October 3, 2017 in Cortez, Colo., as a result of lung and liver cancer. She was born in Cortez on July 1, 1946 the daughter of John Cornett Cooney Ketchem and Marjorie Frances MacLeod. Carol graduated Montezuma Cortez High School in 1964. She married Harold Rodney Tanner in 1965. Together they had twin daughters Rhonda Kae and Mitzi Anne on June 23, 1967. Carol loved horses and barrel racing and participated in it all of her life. She loved to sew, read and sight see. Carol had five granddaughters, Kalysha Manzo, Bailie Pierce, Kyndahl Pierce, Josie Majors and Tatum Majors; and one great grandson, Dawsyn Rae McCabe. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to all of Carols medical caregivers, Visiting Angels and Dr. Erin Henderson of Cortez, Colo. I came across this poem and thought of you… She is gone You can shed tears that she is gone or you can smile because she has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that shell come back or you can open your eyes and see all shes left. Your heart can be empty because you cant see her or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday or you can by happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her and only that shes gone or you can cherish her memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back or you can do what shed want… smile, open your eyes love and go on.
