CAROL LURA IMEL

   Funeral services for longtime Cortez resident, Carol Lura Imel, will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 29, 2024 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Pastor Marvin Graves will officiate. Interment will follow at Lewis Cemetery.

  Visitation has been set for Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel.

  Carol was born March 29, 1925 at Ackman, Colo., the daughter of Lois Levina (Proffer) and Noel Cullen Hadley. She passed away on January 20, 2024 in Firestone, Colo., at the age of 98.

  Surviving Carol are her children, Dan Imel of Cortez, Don Imel (Linda) of St. Mary’s, Ida., Bonnie Garner of Cortez, and Cindy Stephenson (Mike) of Firestone, Colo.; and by 22 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.

  Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Imel; her parents, Noel and Lois Hadley; two children, Shirleyann Imel and Cris Imel; and by her siblings, Nelda Hadley, Gayle Sellard, and June Brubaker.
