Brent Cash McClain was born in Cortez, Colorado on April 21, 1968 to Vaughna and Corky McClain. He passed away at the age of 49 on May 22, 2017 at University Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. At an early age Brent followed in his dad's footsteps and worked in the plumbing business for the next 30 years. Brent enjoyed time with his kids and grandkids, old cars, auctions, and antiques, hunting, flirting, adventures with friends, and time in his boat, "Wiggle, Wiggle, Wiggle", fishing on the lake. Brent had many nicknames throughout his life, Benji, Buford, Big Guy, Batman, Gentle Giant, and he was known as Boggy Draw Buford when he was part of the Single Action Shooting Society. He took great pride in being a member of the United Search and Rescue of Montezuma County. Brent leaves behind his sons, Tyree McClain (Tammie), and Aaron McClain; his daughter, Payton Keith; and his grandchildren, Zaq, Hailey, and Layla. Survivors also include his sisters, Laurie Pemberton (Tom), Jonnie Ryan, Shawna Valdez (Ron), Kim Yazzie; and his brothers, Rory McClain and Cory Ryan. Brent's caring ways, great hugs and jolly sense of humor brought him many friends, and the family would like to thank those friends for the many kindnesses, good times and smiles they brought to Brent's life. A "Celebration of Life" followed by a potluck will be held for Brent on May 30, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at the Dolores Community Center. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the United Search and Rescue of Montezuma County.
