BONNIE JOAN FOREST Funeral services for longtime Lewis resident, Bonnie Joan Forest will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 2 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Summit Ridge Cemetery. Brother Don Wilson will be officiating. Joan was born on June 14, 1934 in Clovis, N.M. the daughter of Charlie M. and Florine Imogene (Brooks) Rogers, Sr. She passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2005 at the Vista Grande Nursing Home. Joan was 70 years old. Joan had lived in the Lewis area for 55 years. She worked as a Bookkeeper for both Empire Electric and Greeley Gas. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star. During her spare time, Joan enjoyed Crocheting, Reading and shopping. Surviving Joan are her two daughters, Judy Marquez and husband, Ron of Lewis, and Ellen Keith of Dolores. She leaves five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Janet Kittel of Farmington, N.M., Charlie M. Rogers, Jr. of Summit Ridge, Jim Rogers and wife, Sandy of Lubbock, Tex., Helen Pilcher and husband, Duane of Kirtland, N.M., Cathy Shields of Farmington, and Daisy Collins of Cortez. Preceding her in death were her parents. Memorial contributions can be made in Joan’s memory to Hospice of Montezuma.
