BONNIE DARLENe BOREN Funeral services for longtime Cortez resident Bonnie Darlene Boren will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 1 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel with Pastor Anthony Maes officiating. Cremation will take place following the services. Visitation has been set from Noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Ertel Chapel. Bonnie was born July 29, 1927 in Milford, Neb. the daughter of Joseph and Irene (Miles) Linberg. She passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital on Monday, July 27, 2009 at the age of 81. Bonnie married Gene DeWeese, the father of her children, in 1943. He passed away in 1969. Bonnie married Dale Lewis in 1973 and was widowed again in 1997. On November 23, 2000 Bonnie married Everett Leon Boren sharing eight years with him before her death. Bonnie was active with the Cortez Senior Citizens. She loved to tend her flower gardens, time spent camping and four wheeling, and is remembered as a great cook. Surviving Bonnie are her husband, Everett Boren of Cortez; three sons, Wayne DeWeese of Casper, Wyo., Robert DeWeese and wife, Mary of Dolores, and Smokey DeWeese and wife, Teri of Gordon, Neb.; and by nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, 1 brother and two sisters. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bonnie Boren with the Senior Citizens of Cortez.
