BOBIE DAWN SAMORA Graveside inurnment services for Bobie Dawn Samora, a longtime resident of Cortez, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 12 at the Arriola Cemetery. The daughter of Dexter Morris and Carolyn D. (Powell) Draper, Bobie was born August 23, 1962 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She passed away Friday, August 8, 2008 at the age of 45. She had courageously fought cancer for the past three years. On July 21, 1984, Bobie married Benny E. Samora in Mount Pleasant, Utah. She was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School and had been attending Pueblo Community College pursuing a teaching degree. Bobie enjoyed cooking and shopping and riding horses with the children. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was known as an instigator of fun. Surviving Bobie are her husband of 24 years, Benny Samora of Cortez; her parents, Morris and Carolyn Draper of Mount Pleasant, Utah; her children, Andrea Martinez and husband, Eduardo, Johnnie Samora and wife, Katy, and Lisa Samora all of Cortez; her stepchildren, Shelly Samora of Joplin, Mo., Geno Samora of Denver, Colo., and Tracy Alexander and husband, George of Cortez; and by her grandchildren, Isaiah Martinez, Amadeo Martinez, Kaydence Samora; and by step-grandchildren, Kyle Woolery, Ashley Woolery, and Tyler Alexander. Also surviving Bobie are her grandmother, LaDawn Powell of Murray, Utah; her siblings, Rebecca Anderson and husband, Leif of Fairview, Utah, Mathew Draper and wife, Beth, Daniel Draper and wife, Yvette, James Draper and wife, Jenny, Joe Draper and wife, Heidi, Sam Draper and wife, Hollie, and Amy Johnson and husband, Shane all of Mount Pleasant, Utah.; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions can be made in Bobie Samora's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
