BOBBY JOE KIMMEL Funeral services for Palisade, Colo. resident and former area resident Bobby Joe Kimmel will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 3 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Cahone Cemetery. A dinner will be held following the commital service. Visitation has been scheduled for Saturday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. On November 23, 2011 at 11:05pm, in Palisade, Colo. Bobby Joe Kimmel left this life and to be with the Lord at the age of 81. Bob was born in Yanush, Okla. to John and Ethel Kimmel on August 14, 1930. Bobby Joe lived six years in Oklahoma, and then moved with his family to their homestead in Cahone, Colo. Bob traveled the United States as a professional truck driver. He drove for many companies like C.B. Johnson, T. Gai Warehouse, Bill Bridgewater, and Yellow Freight Lines. He retired from Yellow Freight Lines with honors, where he was recognized for more than 2 million miles of service, and a spotless driving record. Bob met Joan, his wife, in 1991; they married in 1993 in a small family ceremony in Cortez, Colo. They enjoyed each other's company for many years. They traveled to Mexico often for the winter, where they made many lifelong friends. Bob was an incredible blessing to friends and family alike. Bob was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ethel and John Kimmel; his two sisters, Patsy Risenhoover Merz and Marie Brown. Bob leaves behind his lovely wife, Joan Kimmel; his brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Doris Kimmel; many nieces and nephews; and many close friends.
