BLANCHE WHEELER LEE 1920-2014 Blanche Wheeler Lee, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great, great grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully at the Vista Grande Inn nursing home on June 12, 2014. She was born November 4, 1920 in Redmesa, Colo. to Veda Slade and Joseph LeRoy Wheeler. She was raised in Redmesa and graduated from Farmington High School in 1938. She attended Phoenix School of Cosmetology in Phoenix, Ariz. Blanche married Robert E. Lee on November 12, 1943 in the LDS Mesa Arizona Temple, and together they had 5 children. Blanche was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many positions. Her life was a life of giving and serving others. She was an avid knitter and shared her creations with many. She enjoyed making a variety of candy to share with friends and family. To most who knew her, she was Aunt Blanche or Grandma. She leaves a legacy of love, devotion and service. Blanche is survived by her children, Robert (Nancy) Lee of Peoria, Ariz., Linda (Dave) Colson of Aledo, Tex., Annette (Danny) Decker of Cortez, Colo. and Sheila (Lonni) Lee of Lubbock, Tex.; 15 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert; son Alan; her parents; 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Funeral services will be held under the direction of Bishop Merle Whittaker at 10:00 a.m. on June 28, 2014 at the Redmesa LDS Church in Redmesa CO., with a viewing held prior to the service from 9:00-9:30 a.m. Burial will immediately follow the service at the Redmesa Cemetery.
