A funeral service for Blanche Louise Ahrens, a former Mancos resident, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 18 at the Mancos Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Blanche died January 15, 2008 at Larchwood Inns in Grand Junction, Colo. at the age of 94. She was born May 6, 1913 at Wallace City, Kansas to Charles and Amy (Willard) Mather. She attended schools and graduated from Wallace City High School. On October 12, 1932 Blanche married Webster William Ahrens at Goodland Kansas. He died April 14, 1987 at Cortez, Colo. They also lived in Sharon Springs, Kansas and Mancos, Colorado. Blanche was a homemaker, a member of the Mancos Methodist Church and a member of PEO. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Lee and Barbara Ahrens of Grand Junction, Colo. and a daughter and son-in-law, Violet Ann and Ken Hamblin, also of Grand Junction, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
