BLANCHE IRENE THOMPSON Funeral services for lifelong Cortez resident Blanche Irene Thompson will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 12 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Mr. Doug Carver will officiate. Blanche was born on December 14, 1945 in Zafra, Okla. She passed away on Friday, October 7, 2016 at her home in Cortez. Her parents moved to Cortez when Blanche was three months old. In 1962 she met and married Clifford Alton "Sonny" Littlefield. To this union were born Kelly, Cliff and Amy. Clifford passed away in May 1969. Blanche married Raymond Thompson in 1990. Raymond passed away in August 2013. Blanche leaves to mourn her passing her children, Kelly Littlefield Boren and husband, Luke of Cortez, Clifford Allen Littlefield and wife, Gina of Cortez, and Amy Maybury of Cortez; her step-children, Shirley Nolan and husband, James of Virginia, Raymond Thompson Jr. and wife, Carolyn of Wyoming, Steve Thompson and wife, Patti of Texas, Scott Thompson and wife, Tammy of New Mexico, Josh Thompson of California; her siblings, Sidney Powell of Cortez, Junior Powell of Texas, Evan Powell of Oregon; 22 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and many other family, friends and Brethren. Blanche was preceded in death by her parents, Cap and Marilee Powell; her sisters, Adelia Powell and Joyce Slevin; her brother, Ed Powell; her grandson, Robert Dylan Maybury; and her step-son, Casey Thompson. Blanche and Ray moved to Rangeley, Colo. where she attended CNCC where she obtained her degree in business. They later moved back to Cortez where she spent the remainder of her life and she enjoyed spending time with her children and Brethren. She will be greatly missed by many.
