BLANCA ALVAREZ

  Funeral services for Cortez resident, Blanca Alvarez, will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Father Soosai will officiate. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery.  Visitation has been set for Monday evening, January 8, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel.

  Blanca was born April 27, 1930 at El Paso, Texas the daughter of Maria De Jesus (Banuelos) and Eulogio Contreras Delgado. She passed away at Vista Grande Inn on Monday, January 1, 2024 at the age of 93.

  On May 20, 1954 Blanca married Hortencio Constancio Alvarez.

  Surviving Blanca are her children, Patricia (Julio) Quezada of San Antonio, Tex., Rudy (Liz) Alvarez of Yucaipa, Calif., Gloria (Fred) Jeziorski   of Beaverton, Ore., Angela (Wes) Abueg of Daly City, Calif., Rebecca (Jesse) Quinonez of Cortez, Tom (Chris) Alvarez     of Rialto, Calif., Carlos Alvarez of Redlands, Calif., and Yolanda Robinson of Palm Springs, Calif.; and by 17 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and numerous great great grandchildren.

  Blanca was preceded in death by her husband, Hortencio; her parents; and her siblings, Javier Delgado, Connie Workman, and Louise Dietrich.
