BEVERLY ELIZABETH HODSON STORY Funeral services for longtime Dove Creek resident, Beverly Elizabeth Hodson Story will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1 at the Dove Creek First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Dove Creek Cemetery. A visitation has been scheduled for Tuesday beginning at 12 noon until service time at the First Baptist Church. Beverly was born on June 23, 1920 in Englewood, Kansas the daughter of Beva Haliburton and Elizabeth (Bartley) Leyerly. She passed away on Friday, May 28, 2004 at her home in Dove Creek at the age of 83. Beverly was the Dove Creek Postmaster for 32 years before retiring 28 years ago. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. The Angel Club of America, Veteran of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Order of the Eastern Star, as well as the Mesa Welcome Wagon all held Beverly as a member. Outside of her memberships she was a collector of arrowheads and rocks. Her largest collection was of angels. Beverly was married to William Arthel Hodson until his death in 1991. With this union five children were born. She later married Orville Story who passed away eight years ago. Surviving Beverly are her children, William Leyerley Hodson of Mesa, Ariz., Ed Hodson and wife, Leola, and Jacque Thompson and husband, Robert all of Dove Creek, Sandra Frazier and husband, Roger of Mesa, Ariz., and Gayle Pulher and husband, Ken! of Durango. She leaves 14 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild. Her two sisters Dene Roysden and husband, Avon of Seal Beach, Calif., and Frances Wilson of Long Beach, Calif. also survive Beverly. Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husbands, William Arthel Hodson and Orville Story. Memorial contributions can be made in Beverly's name to Hospice of Montezuma or to the Dove Creek Ambulance Fund.
