Betty Marie Phillips Ferguson Croke

BETTY MARIE (PHILLIPS) FERGUSON CROKE Graveside services for longtime area resident Betty Marie (Phillips) Ferguson Croke will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22 at Summit Ridge Cemetery. Pastor Rick Gregory will officiate. Betty was born December 18, 1923 in Redfield, S.D. the daughter of Frank Oliver and Amanda Frederica (Michelson) Phillips. She passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at her Cortez home at the age of 91. Betty moved to Dolores in 1978 and served 10 years as Deputy Clerk for the Town of Dolores. She moved to Cortez in 2001 and resided there until her passing. Betty married Robert Ferguson in 1944 and the couple raised four children. Robert passed away in 1970 and Betty married Robert Croke in 1975. He brought four stepsons to the union. Robert Croke passed away in 1999. Surviving Betty are her children Tom Ferguson and wife, Marita, Bobbe Jones and husband, Dick, Terri Wheeler, Janeen Aldridge and husband, Arthur; step children, Steve Croke, Gary Croke and wife, Crystal, and Eric Croke and wife, Opal; fifteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and her dear friend and caregiver, Debbie Rantz. Betty was preceded in death by her stepson, James Alan Croke; her brother, Harold Phillips; her sisters, Edith Phillips and Helen Phillips; and her parents, Frank and Amanda Phillips.
