Betty Mae Hunter

Cortez resident Betty Mae Hunter was born February 5, 1931 in Brockway, PA the daughter of Harry Leroy and Althea (Hemphill) Peters. She passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Vista Grande Inn at the age of 89.
Betty married Henry Fulton Hunter in Brockway, PA on February 5, 1955. They moved to Montezuma County in 1974 where she penned columns for the Dolores Star, and later worked as a nurse’s aid.
Surviving Betty are her children, Charles Hunter of Cortez, CO, Sharon Baker of Cortez, CO and Gaye Martin of Dallas, TX; her siblings, Fred Peters of Beaver, PA, and Kaye Marie Lewis of Vero Beach, FL; six grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents.

and those who had no children could pluck one off with ease.
It wouldn’t make much difference if they’re clad in pink or blue
Each precious tiny bundle would be God’s gift of love to you
