Bertha Ella Leffel

Graveside services for Dove Creek resident Bertha Ella Leffel will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2020 at Burn Cemetery in Egnar, CO. Pastor Marvin Graves will officiate. Visitation will take place from 4 – 6 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Ertel Memorial Chapel.
Bertha was born December 29, 1920 in Panora, IA the daughter of John Matthew and Myrtle Odessa (Redshaw) Merz. She passed away Monday, February 24, 2020 at Vista Grande Inn in Cortez, CO at the age of 99.
Surviving Bertha are her children, Dorothy M. Heffner of Dove Creek, CO, Layne Leffel (Helen) of Cortez, CO, Connie Martin of Waterville, ME, Mary Taylor of Dove Creek, CO, Audrey Gregory (Mike) of Palisade, CO, and Shauna Abney (Russ) of Bloomfield, NM; her grandchildren, Mark (Rena), Tammy, Denise (Shane), Scott (Ridgely), Todd, Heather (Jeff), David, Levi, Aubani (Daniel), Austin, and Katlin; her great grandchildren, Chad, Matt, Chris, Nick (Alissa), Olivia, Samantha, Tristan, Madisyn, Collyn, Bryce, Dominique, and Derrik; and her great great grandchildren, Cael, Taryn, Scarlett, and Jaxon; and one sister, Nadine Schear. Bertha was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse, Eldon Derwin Leffel; and her grandchildren, Kirby Taylor, Brian Leffel and Blake Ryan.
