CECIL BERTRAND "BERT" THOMPSON Graveside inurnment services for Cecil Bertrand "Bert" Thompson will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 1 at Summit Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Bud Rousset officiating. Military Honors will be provided by Ute Mountain American Legion Post #75. Bert was born in Carter County, Mo. on February 14, 1929 the son of James Frank and Laura (Estes) Thompson. He passed away at his Dolores home on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at the age of 80. On July 23, 1951 in St. Louis, Mo., Bert married Anna Belle Pigg. Together they shared 58 years of marriage. Bert worked as a logger throughout his career. In his free time he enjoyed pheasant hunting, fishing and reading, but most important to Bert was time spent with his family. Surviving Bert are his beloved wife, Ann Thompson of Dolores; his children, Alan Thompson of Cortez, Carl Thompson and wife, Pam of Dolores, and Mark Thompson and wife, Katrina of Dolores; and by nine grandchildren, Amber, Ashley, Paul, Derek and wife, Rosanna, Megann, Lindsey, Dylan, Lauren and Ethan. Also surviving Bert are his siblings, Lillie Wise of Van Buren, Miss., Gale Thompson of Saratoga, Wash., James Thompson of Fredrickton, Mo. and Myrtle Crouch of Cowdrey, Colo.; and well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
