Bernice Jane Foote

BERNICE JANE FOOTE Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 9 at Sylvan Cemetery in Pleasant View. Mr. Jeff Foster of the Cortez Church of Christ officiated. Bernice was born the daughter of Louis and Kathryn (Branson) Yates on October 3, 1928 in Linn, Mo. She passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital on Monday, May 7, 2007. Bernice was 78 years old. On April 6, 1951 Bernice married William Dale Foote in Marshall, Mo. They shared 56 years of marriage, raising two children and spending time on family picnics and being in the outdoors. Bernice loved to hunt and fish, but most especially she loved being a grandma. Surviving Bernice are her husband Bill Foote Sr. of Cortez; her son, William D. Foote Jr. and wife Maurine; and daughter, Darla Jane French and husband, Shawn all of Cortez; and her granddaughter, Connie Lynn Foote of Grand Junction, Colo. Two brothers, Wesley Yates of Tampa, Fla. and Alvin Yates of Marshall, Mo.; and three sisters, Dorthy Hoke of Marshall, Mo., Lois Dice of Blackburn, Mo. and Betty Howery of Marshall, Mo. also survive Bernice.
