Beatrice Lopez

Celebration of life services for Beatrice Lopez of Summit Ridge will be held Monday, January 20, at 10:30 a.m. A Rosary will be held prior to the service at 10:00 am  at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church 28 East Montezuma Ave. Cortez, Colorado. Burial will follow at the Cortez Cemetery. 

Beatrice Lopez was born June 5th, 1941, in Dexter New Mexico on sheep skin at home. She passed away surrounded by loved ones January 12, 2025. Beatrice was 83 years old. She was the daughter of Richard and Genevieve Gustamantes. Beatrice then married the love of her life Franke T. Lopez on September 14, 1957, they shared 54 marvelous years together. Beatrice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend She had unimaginable strength and beauty. Beatrice had three children. Frankie T. Lopez Jr. of summit Ridge and Diana (Toby) Velasquez of Summit Ridge. She had 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren who loved her dearly. Beatrice enjoyed baking, decorating cakes, and making the best meals for her family. She will always be known for her famous pies and telling it like it was. Beatrice worked at many places throughout her life, but a nurturing mother and grandmother was her greatest joy. Beatrice also loved road trips with her husband to visit all her family in New Mexico and gal trips with her sister-in-law Presella. Beatrice will be missed dearly and will now have her holy reunion with parents Richard and Genevieve Gustamantes, her husband Frankie Lopez, son Freddie Lopez, grandson Donnie Velasquez and all the family she missed so dearly.
