BART YOUNGS Memorial services for Dolores resident Bart Youngs will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 22 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Bart passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2009. He was born on December 14, 1941 to Grant and Gladys Youngs, and was raised in Quincy, Calif. He was a man of boundless energy with a voracious appetite for the outdoors, and spent endless days exploring Southern Utah with his wife, Peggy. Not content to sit when the season changed, he cross-country and down-hill skied all winter. He introduced many of us to his joyful world of the wilderness. Bart was an extraordinary gardener and spent many blissful hours growing amazing flowers and mowing on his red tractor. He will always be remembered for his wit, his oft-repeated jokes, his infectious laugh, his eager attitude of "what's next," "let's go." And those expressive eyebrows, raised as if to say, "Oh, yeah." Bart was a retired dentist but he continued to educate students at San Juan College in Farmington. He taught dental hygiene and loved to see students respond to the challenges of learning. He immensely enjoyed the camaraderie of peers and friends at the college. Bart is survived by his wife, Peggy; his daughter, Kristin Youngs; his sister, Sally Rubio and her family; his adorable, much-loved dog, Jazzy; and a multitude of close family and friends. Please honor Bart with an hour spent outside just watching and remembering. Oh, yeah.
