BARBARA MINNIE BASKETT Funeral services for longtime resident Barbara Minnie Baskett will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 22 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, M Road Chapel. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Bishop Tim Lanier will conduct. Barbara was born July 14, 1934 the daughter of Thomas Jesse and Birdie Rachel (Dennison) Bertrand. She passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at her home at the age of 82. On February 22, 1956, Barbara married Ted Baskett in Aztec, N.M. She was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and Barbara was a volunteer for Hospice of Montezuma. Surviving Barbara are her husband of 60 years, Ted Baskett of the family home; by her children, Vicki Archibeque (Bob), Kathy Stanley, and Brad Baskett (Desiree); by her grandchildren, Kirk Archibeque (Mandi), Jacob Archibeque (Rikki Lynn), Kesley Stanley, Tori Stanley, Teja Drane, Aisha Herrera, and Mona Herrera; and by many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; by her brothers, Benton Thomas Bertrand and John William Bertrand; and by her grandson, Randon Archibeque.
