BARBARA MAXINE JOHNSON Funeral services for longtime area resident Barbara Maxine Johnson will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Cahone Cemetery. Maxine was born March 4, 1928 in Yanush, Okla. the daughter of Hiram Hughston and Nora Alice (Sconce) Long. She passed away on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Mercy Regional Medical Center at the age of 89. Surviving Maxine are her children, Jim Johnson (Pam) of Pleasant View, Colo., Barbara Johnson of Lewis, Colo., Mark Johnson (Linda) of Cortez, Colo. and Rodney Johnson (Berlinda) of Cahone, Colo.; by her grandchildren, Jamie Bradshaw (Tim), Wayne Rogers (Kacy), Amy Kerchof (Don) and Jay Johnson; by her great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Johnson, Hadlee Rogers, and Autumn Harmon; and by her siblings, Nellie Franklin of Phoenix, Ariz., and Oscar Hughlen Long (Barbara) of Glendale, Ariz. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, James Phillip Johnson; by her grandchildren, Cody Johnson and Barbara Lynn Johnson; and by her siblings, Monett Beach, Glenna Eldridge, Donald Long, Roger Long and Billy Ray Long. Memorial contributions may be made in Maxines name to the Southwestern Cowbelles, the Southwestern Colorado Livestock Association, or to the Cahone Fellowship Baptist Church.
