BARBARA JEAN ROOT PEABODY Graveside services for Towaoc resident Barbara "Barb" Jean Peabody will be held on at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 13 at the Towaoc Cemetery. A wake will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, August 12 at Barbara's residence, 1130 Arrowhead Drive Towaoc. Barb was born in Towaoc on November 4, 1947 to Hugh Root and Jane (Wells) Root. She passed away on Monday, August 8, 2011 at her home at the age of 63. Barb enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending Christian Church revivals. Surviving Barb are her sons, Dennis Peabody, Jr. of Globe, Ariz., and Clendennan Peabody of Mancos; her sister, Genevieve Root Thompson of Ignacio, her aunts, Virginia Root, Jessie House, and Pearl Root Laner, all of Towaoc; her four grandchildren, Jeremy Lee Lehi, Earline Cotonuts, Augustine Mary Lou Cotonuts, and Elijah Daniel Lehi, all of Towaoc; and three great-grandchildren. Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Jane Root; her husband, Dennis Peabody Sr.; her sons, Julyeth Root Lehi, Denen Peabody, and Eric Root Koppenhafer; and her brothers, Roger Root, Gilbert Root, Dale Root, and Amos Root.
