Barbara Clement Eastin, age 74, passed away on February 10, 2017 in Cortez, Colorado. Barb had a love of nature and of history. She became a Master Gardener and hiked the mountains and canyons of the Four Corners region. She fostered her appreciation for other cultures by traveling extensively in the US and internationally. Barbara served her own community as a volunteer at the Cortez Cultural Center and the Good Samaritan Center. She was actively involved in the creation of the Child Advocacy Center in Cortez In her career Barbara served as a Child Protective Services social worker. Barbara Joyce Clement was born in La Jolla, California, as the only child of Buford G. Clement and Violet A. (Von Gunten) Clement. Through marriage, she became sister and friend to many. Barb is survived by husband Christopher C. Eastin III in Cortez; daughters Jennifer (Taylor) Turner and Sarah Eastin, both residing in the Denver, Colorado, area; grandson Taylor Garrett in Elizabeth, Colorado; and several cousins. Services for Barbara will be held 4:00 p.m. March 4th, 2017 at Saint Barnabas Church in Cortez, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to the Cortez Good Samaritan Center, the Cortez Cultural Center, or For Pets' Sake Humane Society.
